So what are you going to say to me, when I was sitting in the emergency room at six years old, trying to tell a doctor that my step father had just bashed me in the head with a rawhide dog bone (the ones they use for great danes) and no one believed me because they assumed that I just “didn’t understand what my dad was doing”, or that it was an accident and I just didn’t understand because I was only six.
What are we going to say to that ten year old kid who was beaten to death by his father, after the child managed to run away and seek the help of a neighbor, only to have that neighbor return the child after assuming that the kid was simply “overreacting”? (x)
Or how about how many kids were ignored by their parents when they explain that they’ve been molested by adults?
If you don’t want to accept the fact that the concept of “adult privilege” may very well have some truth to it, fine, but at least have the decency to not mock the concept.
